From makeshift baseball games, to remote villages in Cuba, many have admired Fidel Castro. And for almost fifty years he's been the island's most polarizing figure. Is Cuba ready for life after Castro?
In February 2008, the baton was officially handed from President Fidel Castro to his brother Raul. Now Cuba faces one of its biggest challenges since Fidel took over the island nearly fifty years ago.

  • Even IF Cuba became a US playground, it would provide a much better standard of living than the majority of Cubans live in now. I was in Havana in September and it is amazing that what once was a prosperous, beautiful island nation is now a decaying, dysfunctional ghetto. Of course Fidel lives in the lap of luxury with abundant wealth, while the majority of Cubanos live in abject poverty. Younger Cubans want relations with the US,,,they long for US dollars to upgrade their standard of life.

  • This would be good for the Cubans on theisland.
