  • No, they're a lot brighter.

  • Yes, 350 FPM is pretty fast for 8 floors.

  • nowadays, ThyssenKrupp makes most of their geared elevators go 200-250 FPM for 5-8 stories

  • Yes, and that's actually better, since they're faster, and prevent hydraulic from being installed.

  • as u know I've recorded 4 ThyssenKrupp geared traction elevators, 2 at George Pearl Hall at UNM and the latter 2 at the Hilton Garden Inn Albuquerque Uptown, and they go only 200 FPM. The ones in George Pearl Hall serve 5 floors while the ones in Hilton serve 7 stories.

Did you say 200 FPM is actually better for 5-8 stories than 350?

  • Yes, and I think 300-350 FPM is better for 9-12 floors.

  • So the UT austin garages are dark too?

  • Ultra fast!!

  • Thanks, since I like the stainless steel walls a lot.

  • Despite it being dark, nice elevator.
