  • It's hard to explain, but he really, genuinely does have tremendous presence as an actor. I never contemplated the possibility that an animal could have that.

  • In my opinion,Bart Reigned Supreme among Kodiaks, a Monarch,..THE Largest Kodiak that i have seen to date/on the web.. in the end, Ive read that Bart weighed in upwards of 1500+lbs do they get that large in the wild??

  • he was so sweet, i cried when i found out he died of cancer. por bart,we will always remember you in our hearts.

  • You guys are awesome!! His as big as a VW..lol

  • Bart is coolest. I was lucky to have had the pleasure of meeting him face to face

  • Who wouldn't love to be able to do this with a bear, but unfortunately I wouldn't risk it, no matter how friendly the animal was. It only takes a second for them to completely turn... you just never know. Its a wild animal, after all.

  • Bart is not 1500 pounds here. He became bigger than this later years (heavier).

But yes, there are several cases of Brown Bears killed by hunters that were bigger than Bart in the wild. In fact, some were much bigger. Of captive Bears the heaviest today in Europe is in the Duisburger Zoo and it weighs over 1 000 kg (2200 pounds). Its also a Kodiak and called "Barbucha".

"Goliath" (Space Farms Zoo) was 900 kg.

  • @townkevin59 Seriously...I'd probably get my rib cage crushed in just "playing" with Bart.

  • You have gonads the size of cannon balls to play with such an enormous, powerful Grizzly. I would NEVER be comfortable around him no-matter how friendly he was. He is just too huge and dangerous looking.....I guess it's just instinct to fear an animal like that.

  • "Good Boy" count - 92

  • Soooo cool !!! I was watching "White Fang" earlier and when the big bear scene was going on it triggered an old memerie from when i was very young (like 5 or 6), of seeing some stuff about Bart on Disc. channel, particularly the Brad Pitt stuff, and the name 'Bart the Bear' finally came to my mind. I still don't know if it was Bart in White Fang but, either way i'm glad the thought led me back to these videos. RIP Bart.

  • I love Bart. :) It's amazing how smart bears are. They deserve more credit.
