I got my first Mandolin for a Christmas present this year....Never played before now....Practiced for a week ...Then had the idea to lay down my own guitar track while then trying to keep up with an ukulele track....lets laugh together shall we....

I am self taught and had never played a mandolin until this song. I sound it out with trial and error and then just try to remember everything that sounded right...sorry I cant be of more help...Good luck and thanks for listening...

Not really...I went there when I first picked it up,because how would I know anything different,and then quickly saw that I couldnt treat it the same. I was friends with an amazing group of brothers called the Walls of Bluegrass in Maryland and always was impressed with my friend the mandolin player. He had a chopping motion that I have not yet figured,definately that fast single string picking seems to be a must to insure that mandolin sound.Watch those Bluegrass guys to find the difference
