I used to have a major website online dedicated to the film "The Touchables" which Ricky was featured in. A friend of his contacted me to thank me for the website, and let slip that Ricky was living peacefully & happily out of the limelight, in Mexico. This was 10 years ago. I never bothered to verify the info. I took his word, and was content to know that Ricky was happy.

I don't know if "Starr" was just acting (like pro wrestling is an act) or if is his act was a manifestation of his sexuality, but he had been a ballet dancer originally, which may indicate something.
In any case, his act was a real hoot. I wonder if he's still alive? There is scant recent info. on "Starr"/Bernard Herman available on the Web. For that matter, there is little info. about him period.

They use to introduce him as the light-heavy champ/ 199lbs. But he always fought much bigger guys, never other small guyss. He must been been light-heavy champ because he was the -only- light-heavy! According to Lou Thesz, Starr was an excellent legitimate wrestler.
