Since 2008, Bishop Lindsay Urwin has been the administrator at the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham. He took time out from his busy schedule to talk frankly with Father Simon about some of the issues - and controversies - currently being faced by traditionalist Anglican clergy such as those who work at Walsingham.
"Walking to Walsingham" is an ongoing New Media and documentary film project which tracks the pilgrimage in May/June 2010 of Father Simon Tibbs, who walked from his home in Edinburgh, 450-miles to the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham in the north of Norfolk. The walk was sponsored for charity.

If you lokk at the Gospels, in 3 of them Matthew, Mark and John Jesus appears first to a woman or women before appearing to the men when he has risen from the Dead. Matthew Ch28 v08, men v16; Mark Ch16 v09, Men v12; John Ch20 v14, Men v19 so on the strength of those 3 it seems sensible to Ordain Women as Bishops. In Luke (Ch24 v05) it says men (Angels on the grounds of what they said) (I cant imagine them to be Roman Gaurds as they're wearing White) Again the Men were shown a sign later.

The Roman Catholic Church is the fruition of Revelation 17, an abomination that promotes human infallibility in the pope, has violated the piety of the holy Virgin by worshipping her above Christ, supports sheer inventions such as the assumption and has a history of oppression, corruption and terrorism. How can anyone calling themselves a Christian be a Roman Catholic? Then again, I never actually hear RCs calling themselves Christian at all, they strictly refer to themselves only as Catholics.

The situation that Bishop Lindsay is describing sounds very much like what happened in Sweden a generation ago, where the High Church was placed in a 'hospice' position, to use the bishop's words.

How normal thinking people can still call themselves Christians and Anglicans at the same time is completely beyond me. I suppose it's some kind of love for singing ridiculous hymns and a certain English stubbornness and love for tradition, even if the tradition is silly. Also completely beyond me is how could great minds like C.S.Lewis and T.S. Eliot who obviously took their Christian religion very seriously and without converting to Roman Catholicism.
