No, you've choosen the wrong motherboard for that CPU, may I suggest another CPU? Try the 3770k, it's very nice for gaming :)

Well I often connect my tv to the pc then listen movies on the 56" TV+playing games with youtube and etc at same time in background it does.I had the 3570k which is good for gaming but as soon as I would heavily multi-tasking as always while playing a video game it did make a noticeable change when I put the 3770k overclocked at 4.5ghz,the 3570k is still excellent for straigth gaming but we all end up doing 748653 things at the same time,or atleast I do:P I kept the 3570k and threw it in laptop!

He said its useless for gaming, which it is. Battlefield 3 is probably the only game which takes advantage of those features, but the improvement is negligible. The 3770k's uses over the 3570k stay in video editing/rendering/encoding etc...

He really doesnt have to go that far, in games a 3570k will perform just as good, and he can save a few bucks :D

i bought mine at microcenter for 189 a few months ago

the i7 is for video rendering and multitasking as you said, i dont think you will need to video render AND play games as thats just plain silly. the i5 is the best for gaming as you can save money with it which goes indirectly to making a better rig by allowing better vidoe card

Hyper-Threading technology and the size of L3 Cache and the turbo boost are the main differences. The i7-3770K has 33% more cache than the i5-3570K.HyperThreading "creates" one more virtual core for each physical core a processor has, which increases the speed of multi-tasking loads. The 3770k will automatically jump to 3.9ghz which already will never bottleneck and video cards but you can still go up to 4.8ghz if you desire to.It is far from useless. Also I don't know where you look at for 200$.

Can anyone advise me ? Should I buy this motherboard for my 2500k (I love how it looks) upgrading from my msi p67gd65. Or should I wait till next year and get a z87 with a broadwell CPU ?

try the i5 3570k, as the 3770 k is useless for gaming and save the 200 dollars to get a better graphics card, like the 780
