This would be nice to have as a desktop that flashed the cube that was updated, and just like an overlay it pulls the news up. But you would need a good GPU and a lot of ram to constantly render an active desktop like that effeciently at 60 fps. I mean, what if you had surround vision? How much power would you need to effectively render all 3 screens with active news cubes at a solid 60 fps?

@scotfever it is an indicator of how far computing has gone. from the very first single core processor to this monument to intle's success. this might not have practical use but it shows how powerful computing has come. the infoscape is taking in information from 20,000 sources and has 6-7 life feeds of video. imagine this couple of years ago.

That would be something cool to have at airports or shopping malls for public consumption. I can tell you right now that it is out of my price range.
