An all-sky image of the infant Universe, 379,000 years after the Big Bang. In 1992, NASA's COBE mission first detected tiny temperature fluctuations (shown as color variations) in the infant universe. The WMAP image brings the COBE picture into sharp focus. Credit: WMAP group

  • the cosmic radiation shows up as green, right?

  • @FallofDarkness55

Maybe they can build a satellite that can stand the radiation that would kill a human. Do a YouTube search on "MoonFaker: Phil Plait, Mythbusters & Dirty Tricks".

  • You guys may have it all wrong. Perhaps our friend, mk00y1, was lamenting the apathy of our species?

  • You provoked several responses, apparently, all of which were exceedingly well-mannered and subtly implied that you're fcking ignorant. But they're very right, and there's the problem: being so very fcking ignorant, you surely can't read subtext. So let me sum up for you, in a very simple, declarative sentence. As sure as arithmetic: You're fcking ignorant, mk00y1. You're looking at an image of how everything that ever physically existed, exists, or will exist began. Lots of people care.

  • Well said... except it's unwise to leave questions open-ended for ignorant assholes like that. You simply can't trust them to figure things out... I believe I'll tell mk00y1 they're an ignorant twat. And beg everybody else's pardon for my language...

  • @BigBoss7777777

And you're a waste of oxygen. GTFO.

  • mk00y1 isn't with stupid, mk00y1 is stupid.

  • Well that was a waste of fucking time.

  • mk00y1 is with stupid.

  • This could arguably be the most important image in the history of the universe - because it IS the history of the universe!
