It's just totally classic!

There's NO cop show in 2010 that couldn't beat out any cop shows of the 70's and 80's...
-
@TheTalentedMrRipley1 It's probably hard for someone young to understand, but back then, it was common to use shots of jets to show how modern and progressive a particular setting was. Flight was still seen as something glamorous and upwardly mobile.

my thoughts EXACTLY ZULU as KONO has to be the best of ALL TIME

@scarlson3 And the ventures have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I could never understand and still dont.. why they had shots of the planes' engine and underbelly. The new version coming out in the fall on CBS is going to suck.. You cannot re invent something as classic as this show. NO matter how you change it

Steve I just want to say thank you, well for all youve done for me. I mean, my nights are dark and empty... When your not on TV.
This theme song still gets me pumped Zulu as Kono! Kam Fong as Chin Ho! Frigin great names!
@ShyQABoy Let's be honest. The original 5-O was at best a lackluster cop show.
People love the show because it was set in Hawaii and most Americans live boring little towns where nothing happens. Who wouldn't want to go to sunny tropical Hawaii?
The acting was stiff and wooden, the direction pretty tepid shot wise as per tv of the times. The show did tackle issues and raised interesting points but this was undone by the terrible acting of the leads except Lord who carried the show.
