Sims 2 - Split Level Room

How I make little "inset" areas in my Sims 2 houses. :)

Oh and in case anyone wants to know -- it is very easy to edit these areas later! Just add foundation back if you took too much away, or repeat the process to add more parts. It's pretty foolproof, really.

If you find your walls "warping" as you add more to the house just flatten 'em.

1. Note that the house is built on foundation.
2. Hit shift+contrl+c and type "boolprop constrainFloorElevation false"
3. Get the foundation tool. Delete foundation wherever you want to be "inset".
4. Grab the level tool and level that floor completely.
5. Build new walls where your foundation was. Level again as necessary on each floor until all walls are leveled correctly.
6. You need to be on the VERY BOTTOM FLOOR to decorate the inset areas! Otherwise items will just float above them! =)
7. Decorate as desired.

actually there are other ways of doing that^^ (or maybe only 1.. but..) they are easier depending of where you want a lower room..
