One of the Sheffield University School of Architecture live projects from 2008, the outdoor classroom was set in the ancient woodland of Ecclesall Woods in Sheffield. The site was the old sawmill area which has become the home to small carpentry based businesses and also a group linked to Forest Schools. They occupy a small area on the edge of the site where they wished to have some form of accommodation to use for visiting school children and parties of kids who needed shelter on wet days and storage for equipment and coats. The end result was the outcome of 6 weeks of work from Masters students at the university who liaised with the clients and site manager also with the businesses that run on site.
