Real people, ringing real bells, in praise of Our Lord. It's an act of prayer. The church of my youth let its bells go to rust, and replaced them with bell-shaped loudspeakers that emit recordings of bells. Go figure. Equally strange to me is the replacing of real votive candles by some churches with electric ones that shut off seconds after you pay to "light" them. Give me real bells, smoke and beeswax any day.Real things employed by real people in devotion.
