Silenced AK47 with subsonic ammo comparison

@Sirdog33 Using Subsonic ammo means that the powder load is less than a standard round so that the bullet is fired just slow enough not to break the sound barrier. Using standard rounds through a suppressor is a pointless because of the loud crack the bullet makes when it breaks the sound barrier and the only real purpose to supressing an AK-47 would be to clear a room or a cave in Afghanistan because the bullet would not travel far enough for the sonic boom to matter in a CQB situation.

@mikeandnatasha What type of Ak47 is that? The gas piston looks very long.

I just love SUBSONIC period. Great home made suppressor btw

have you tried different loads to get the subsonic to cycle with the suppressor?
-
Why did you have to constantly pull the bolt back? I thought every legal Ak was semi auto?

@mikeandnatasha thx. good info nice trcuk 2:)
Nice video. Might want to put on some eye pro. Looked like you got a little blow back on that first shot, could have been worse . Great job on your build. Too bad you had to pay $200 and tell the atf where it is. Hope that extra $200 and infringement on your rights doesn't encourage them anymore.

It does get a little poof back. Not much though. Thats the reason for the long gas system on that one. A gun that you HAVE TO wear ear and eye protection with is pretty worthless. Several design consideration went into that combo to keep blowback to a minimum.

FWIW the ATF knows exactly where i am and has for years. You get used to it.

ok so can u have an illegal silencer ?

@electronicchronic
What makes you think its illegal?
mikeandnatasha 7 months ago
@mikeandnatasha its just you said dont worry its not illegal. i thought there might be combat grade silencers or something that are even less loud. but i guess not
electronicchronic 7 months ago
Its not illegal. You can build your own silencer legally. Just takes a few papers sent into the gov. and a few hundred dollars. "Combat grade" silencers are actually louder than most top performing commercially available silencers. The military is primarily concerned with point of aim shift and durability. Sound performance comes in a distant third in military trials for silencers. Civilian buyers typically have noise reduction as their primary concern. Manufacturers know this.
