Joni Mitchell is and always will be one the most heartfelt and honest artists ever. If you listen to the words, regardless of the tune, you'd need a black heart of stone not to appreciate what Joni is saying. A real song that actually communicates a real meaning that relates to the real world. I love hard rock but this song talks about being shat on like no other. It fuckin' rocks and anyone who can't see that must be dead.

holy smokes this original is so much better then the remake in my opinion. this song reminds me of when i was really young and my parents were still together. just saying its a beautiful song.dont flame me!

@MusicForYourFunk You got me! I really pounced on this in an aggressive manner! It's the kind of piece where, let's say you were looking to write a catchy jingle, you might lift a progression from it, if not seek to use it in its entirety. As slick as i think it is, Joni's voice and playing paint a mood that can be unsettling with the message conveyed in the lyrics. Also: my apologies to all the yuppies whom i may have offended: sip your Latte!

Too commercial for my taste. Rampant with all kinds of TV commercials and shallow yuppie sensibility. Definitely not a song that has ever really turned me on.

to me thats the point .
its about the ruin and commercialization of our world and society in general .
to me , it seems like you got caught up in the unspoken images (since there were no 'tv commercials' or the like mentioned) of the ruin of 'paradise' , which also means the song hit its mark perfectly .
