Dalbello live at Rockpalast 1985 - part 10 - Black On Black

Lisa Dalbello performing "Black On Black" at Rockpalast (in Germany)... This song appears on the 9 1/2 Weeks soundtrack in a similar version to this live recording. It would then also appear on her 1987 album "she" in a revamped form with a sung chorus.

A third version, "Black On Black II", was recorded by Heart in 1993 for their "Desire Walks On" album as a collaboration with Ms. Dalbello.

I have also being introduced to Dalbello's music by the Heart covers. Dalbello is surely a little bit of avant garde. "I can't see your hands, I am too short, probably because I am Canadian"-LOL. This is surely a nice song.

Me too... it's actually the reason I listen to Dalbello (and I must give credit to Ann & Nancy Wilson for doing their version "Black on Black II" or I never would've heard of Lisa Dalbello). The fact that I also saw she wrote "Wait For An Answer", which they had previously covered, led me on a search to find out who she was and what she's all about... I heard a clip of this song online and was entranced by her voice!

I remembering when my husband was stationed in Germany this band was the first concert over there I went to...awesome band, and if you can make it to germany, by far the best country over there! Awesome people :)

Man, does this bring back memories!!! I was about 15 when I heard this song and it just sent my imagination running wild!!! I won't mention what 9 1/2 Weeks did to me a few months later!!!! LOL!!!

I first heard about her when I found Queensryche's wasn't the original "Gonna Get Close To You". I had already known of "Black On Black" from my 9 & 1/2 Weeks soundtrack and wondered why Heart didn't sing it on it. I thought her version was wonderful, but at the time, I didn't think to try and find out who sang it. It wasn't till I found out she originally wrote and sang "GGC2U" that I sought out her other work. Once I saw the video she did for it...I was HOOKED!!! Lisa ROCKS!!!
