@79barkingspider - my mother knows Mika Ertegun (Ahmet's widow) and she was visiting her in Bodrum, Turkey this summer (I know this sounds like name dropping but there you have it...).
I read last year that she was working on a new album (after "Thrill"). Now I can't find anything on the project, if it still exists. If I don't get some original songs from this genius, I'm going to resign from the human race! Anybody know anything?
What a great posting. This is my favourite song from the album. For me, Alan Broadbent gets it just right both on piano and with the string arrangement. But most of all this was my introduction to the work of Melody Gardot (simply magnificant). Charlie Haden does it again, combining the best of jazz with (for me) singers that I am not familiar with - just check ot the Quartet West's earlier work where they seamlessly combine new arrangements with original vocal recordings (e.g., Jo Stafford)
Can't get enough of this one -- not only because Melody Gardot is great, but because the recording is superb -- but the cd is a little uneven. Charlie and Quartet West are always worth hearing, but I'd say Diana Krall's offering here is pretty feeble (and too bad, too, because "Goodbye" is a great tune). Anyone else agree?

@TansuTansu2 Where did you hear this. I'd love to more about the background for this move. I hope you're right.

@79barkingspider - I heard that she is being pursued by Atlantic Records (Ahmet Ertegun's label) perhaps she is waiting until this is resolved.
