I do not defend either Clinton or Bush for their action in Iraq. However, Clinton still claimed he believed they had WMDs until the fall of Saddam Hussein and Bush was lying. When America protested, he changed his reasons for the invasion several times. Most people don't even know what we are fighting there for anymore. Bush not only lied to the people, he lied to his own council, which proves he can't be trusted.

The early 2000s recession was predicted for years and was brought on by the end of East Asia's 1990s boom which crashed in their 1997 economic crisis.
