America's Pastime: Pop Pop Pop Goes The Nine

This is the video from an installation which is part of the Taking AIM series. You can see still images from this project in The Taking AIM section and Installation & Exhibitions section of my website

People were photographed and then made into shooting range targets. The same people were then invited to shoot the targets of themselves in a gallery. This video and the shot targets were then displayed in the gallery.

"Taking AIM" brings to the forefront, the feeling that is evoked when a viewer is in front of a target. I am interested in that fine line that exists between acceptable, condoned and recreational violence, and deplorable criminalized violence. This dichotomy exists through out popular culture.
