Just a brief video with Phil Astles to show a few of the sounds you can get out of a LP Jr. The guitar is going into a 50s Fender Champ clone made by a local UK builder called a Tweedy Toneworks Atom. Only a VanAmps Reverbamate is in the signal chain.

This was made quickly and briefly to test a new camera thingy. Subsequently posted incase there was any interest in these guitars.

  • Thanks again for all the kind comments - Gibson Juniors really are wonderful guitars. Don't let one pass you by and don't think you need an old one to get that sound. Because you don't.

    Cheers,

    Phil

  • My Dad found the one his friend gave him and let me play it a bit...once I clean and restring it, I'll lock it in a safe inside a bunker guarded by robots in the center of the Earth. Because I love mine that much :)

  • I also like the finish - no nonsense and workmanlike - the odd knock here and there is nothing to worry about! I've other more expensive guitars but get so much fun out of my junior.

  • @davethestratman cool! thanks man. I really like the finish of these guitars rather than the regular Les Pauls.

  • @ox092 these will never do what a two pup guitar will do! However they are awesomely good guitars and not expensive. Great for blues, punk and edgy rock. A must buy.

  • Can this guitar do almost anything a two pick-up guitar can do?

  • Awesome guitar - Great tone and tasty licks as well!

I play a similar style and I've been considering getting ones of those new Jrs pelham blue. Your video is making my decision easier ~

  • Jesus that Jr. Sounds incredible.

  • i think i'll get one of these. might be a good amp to string in nashville/highstrung. lots of old country and the rolling stones use that tuning. if you're into roots i suggest checking it out! much thanks for the video friend and God bless

  • i think i'll get one of these.

  • it is the lespaul junior always comes with a p-90 pick ups?
