I always thought that NYPD Blue was over-rated and this show was under-rated. This was a great show while it lasted.

Awesome. I wish this version had the phone ringing and Munch answering "Homicide" at the end of it like the later version did.

The Wire owed a great debt to this show, and it would be nice to hear somebody admit it for once. The best episodes, aside from the whole season or so with the hypnotic villain Luther Mahoney, were the three that made up the story of the muder of Adeena Watson and the intense interrogation of a suspect played with riveting intensity by Moses Gunn.

Yep! Season 5, Ep 3: "Unusual Suspects." Check it out on Netflix if you can. The first time I saw it I did a double-take too.
