Elite marathoner Ryan Hall describes his plan to attack the American marathon record in Chicago and how every runner can shoot for a new personal best. For more videos and blogs from Ryan and his team, visit Facebook.com/MastertheShift
I read that Ryan's training results leading to the Chicago marathon was not what he desired or expected. The decision to pull out of the event was wise. It is better to work on determining why the training results were off for this event and go fix them. There is always another race on the calendar.
not to mention he's never backed down before. he's not alan webb or galen rupp. he's a tough as nails competitor who WILL break the american record before the 2012 olympics.
unbelievable. you guys obviously have no idea what being a serious distance runner - at any level - is all about. failures, bumps in the road, are the NORM for most runners when they are pushing themselves to the max. this guy just happens to be probably the most consistent marathoner in the world over the past four years. he hasn't had a bad race. any given marathon race is the product of months, years of training - he is right to pull out if he's not feeling the top of his game. h
Ryan, look at your form in your recent half marathon leading up to Chicago and compare it to when you ran the half marathon American record. . Now tell me why you are failing.
