I run 7 miles in an hour and it says 1000 calories as well, Also my shirt is soaking wet with sweat. I think this video might be inaccurate

Steve,
I heard some years ago that even though a runner - for example - might burn x amount of calories per hour that they actually burn up twice that since it takes 24 hrs for your body to truely settle down from the excercise. So if a person just burned up 500 calories on a run that they actually burn up 1000 calories. Is this true?
Love your videos.

So what you're saying is...cardio doesn't do much for weight loss?
(I know that's not what you're saying, but could you please clarify the purpose of this video?)

When am running on the treadmill it says 1000 calories per hour.
I run at 15Km/h

Wtf??? When i do cardio i can burn well over 500 calories in one hour with little rest periods etc and it also helps that I have super good conditioning..

@BenjaminPipic well steve said it already, but you should get a science book about metabolism and biomechanics, the marathon runners are adapted to to fat burning then carbos, averge person burn about 70% carbo and 20% fat + rest creatinephospat while running, a trained athlete burns more fat AND faster, then carbo in exacpt the opposite way 70fat/20carbs way this mean more capilars and so on...
This means the idea of physical activity to cure obesity is absurb. Physical activity is an excellent to reduce risk of premature death , of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, stroke, hypertension, osteoporosis but not significant or longterm weight loss - the research proves this. The calorie basis is completely flawed and doesnt take into hormonal or enzymatic processes which control weight loss and gain controlled by insulin and dietary carbohydrate. Overeating is the symptom not the cause

steve, wouldn't someone with bigger muscles than a typical marathoner burn more calories per hour if they ran at the same pace? I recall you saying on your radioshow that if we have big muscles and use them we will burn more calories than someone who has smaller muscles

@Chaaarge Yes, IF they could run as fast and long with the addtitional muscle weight AND if they we in as good shape as a marathoner.
