Aboriginal women explain how working with Mother Earth meaning the changing of the seasons to gather, contemplate, access, they make beautiful dye baths from roots, berries, flower petals and more. The women while performig these tasks reflect on their life. Then the women, spin natural fibers of hemp and linen. When this completed they dye the fiber for weaving. The art form is called " West Coast Salish"It had been nearly completed lost, however, smaller groups such as Stardale rekindled this fine technique.

  • This is beautiful. I have been experimenting with natural dyes and fibers out of curiosity. It is amazing how much I have learned about life and science by doing this. It is amazingly therapeutic, and I hope to connect with other women in the future through this art.
