G20 fallout - Queers protest Toronto police chief Bill Blair at Pride party

A 4:30pm cocktail appearance by Toronto police chief Bill Blair quickly became a heated standoff June 29. Organizers kept gay and trans people out of the 519 Community Centre auditorium for over two hours — and periodically ejected people from inside. For the first hour, those who were forbidden from entry stayed outside. Organizers said that Pride Toronto was complicit in the "pinkwashing" of Toronto Police.

Blair was heckled as he arrived at the community centre, and police struggled with the crowd to close and block the building's main entrance. Protesters realized that a second entrance was left open and unguarded, and they quickly entered the building, filling the lobby. Police prevented the group from going to the auditorium upstairs where Blair was giving a speech at the reception. He was booed as he came down to exit the building.

Cops especially jail guards well turn their heads when people like those protesters complain. And there is very little recource for them

they can complain for the rest of their lives, nobody cares about Jenny Peto and her roving gang of thugs.

The majority, and I say the majority of Torontonians support the police, not these people, and Bill Blair has not resigned, he is still in his great job, making lots of money.
