Philip Cowan, Cinematographer - Showreel

Philip Cowan, Senior Lecturer in Film and Video at Newport School of Art, Media and Design, has worked on over 80 productions, including; Drama, Documentary, Performance, and Animation projects, working for BBC, ITV, C4, S4C, and numerous independent companies. As a Director of Photography he has shot on 35mm, 16mm, Digibeta and DV, collecting sixteen 'Best Short Film' awards, including two BAFTA Cymru awards. His work has been screened on network television, and at festivals world-wide. Philip has taught at various institutions, as well as devising and running various short courses on; script writing, cinematography, and editing. He is currently a mentor for the Film Council sponsored First Light scheme, and is undertaking a PhD on cinematography.
