A Storyville Jazz Band 1997. elején alakult meg Szegeden tehetséges, fiatal muzsikusokból. Zenéjük az 1900-1920-as évek New Orleans-i hangulatát idézi, mint ahogy nevük is, hiszen e város szórakoztató negyedében Storyville-ben született meg az a zene, amit ragtimenak, dixielandnek neveztek, később pedig ebből alakult ki a jazz. Repertoárjuk sokszínű. Nevükhöz híven számaikat a műfaj tradicionális és revival slágereiből állították össze, megidézve ezzel is a kor és a hely hangulatát. Hazai fesztiválok, koncert színpadok közkedvelt vendégei.

Storyville Jazz Band has been formed by talented young musicians in Szeged in the beginning of 1997. Their music recalls the atmosphere of New Orleans in the era between 1900 and 1920, just like their name, for the music named ragtime or dixieland, from which jazz evolved later, was born in Storyville, the entertainment quarter of this city. Their repertoire is colorful. In accordance with their name their program has been composed of traditional and revival hits of this genre, recalling the atmosphere of the era and the place. They are popular guests of festivals and concerts all over Hungary.

Die Storyville Jazz Band wurde Anfang des Jahres 1997 von talentierten, jungen Musikern in Szeged gegründet. Sowohl ihre Musik als auch ihr Name erinnern einen an die Stimmung von New Orleans in den 1900 - 1920er Jahren, denn im Vergnügungsviertel dieser Stadt, also in Storyville entstand die Musik, die Ragtime, Dixieland genannt wurde, und aus der sich später dann der Jazz entwickelte. Die Band zeichnet sich durch ein auswärtiges Repertoire aus. Ihrem Namen entsprechend wurden ihre Lieder aus den traditionellen und revivalen Hits der Gattung zusammengestellt und auch damit beschwört sie die Stimmung von Ort und Zeit. Sie sind allgemein geliebte Gäste auf den heimischen Festivals und auf den Konzertbühnen.
