Call for day of mourning in Iran

The presidential challenger, Mir Hossein Mousavi, has urged followers to observe a day of mourning for those killed in this week's protests.

2008 conspiratorial anti-Semitic statements and Iran is the center of violence and bigotry in the area, his regime is a danger to the whole world. Iran seeks religious hegemony and regional dominance, deepens the divide in the Middle East, hindering the peace process and violates human rights. Iran's support for Hezbollah divided Lebanon, its support for Hamas split the Palestinians and delayed the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state. Its despicable and cynical denial of the Holocaust is an insult to the survivors of the horror. It is somewhat contradictory to the resolutions adopted by this assembly. Iran continues to develop enriched uranium and long-range missiles. They introduce a religion of fear, as opposed to God's call for respect for life. The Iranian people are not our enemy, and never has been. Fanatical leadership of this country is our problem and the concern of the world. Iran combines long-range missiles with short-range minds. The Iranian leader is a danger to his people, for the region and worldwide.
