iPhone 4 Antenna Fix - The Scotch Tape Hack

So you just got this amazing new iPhone and you're likely pretty lucky to have it on the first day. If you happened to be as lucky as me and also had a major hardware issue where the antenna doesn't function when you use any skin (ball skin doesn't work tho, I tried) to touch the bottom left seam of the phone. Instead of spending $29 on a hot pink bumper from Apple, the world's best up-sell artist, you could just use some scotch tape.

Now, I know what you're saying to yourself. You're chilling somewhere on your new iPhone 4 and someones like, "Hey! Is that the new iPhone?! Awesome can I see it... what's this tape shit on the side?". You can just be like, "Yeah I want to make sure I get reception and a $29 hot pink bumper just wasn't what I was looking for".

You may be also saying to yourself, why didn't they ship with a bumper if they were aware of the issue? Bringing out a bumper product along with the device made it seem at least that they were aware of this issue. Or at minimum, Apple should maybe come out and give free bumpers to anyone with the issue. At minimum? I want a new iPhone that actually works honestly, and I hope that something comes out that says this will be a possibility.

Not the biggest deal ever, I guess, but it's a pretty big one. Class action lawsuit anybody? Massive recalls? Yee haw.

maybe apple will release some sort of clear elastic band that is very thin to go around the side of the iphone? jesus christ how could they not have foreseen this? the Danish even knew before they did!

@SomethingAwfulTV yeah its pretty amazing... -something- should have came with it.. a cheap ass piece of plastic would have been much welcomed by all. with the *option* to upgrade to a better looking/different color bumper or something..

If you look klearly he has 0 bars on 3G & 0 bars off of 3G ...he took off 3G to show you that he kan have full bars wit out 3G & probably full bars on 3G ....
