This is our introduction video regarding engagement strategies in the classroom. For those non-visual learners, below is an introductory description of our topic:

"In order for students to learn most effectively, students must be engaged in their learning. According to our Stronge, Tucker, and Hindman text (2004), on-task students are involved in their learning; thus, effective teachers seek ways to enhance student involvement in class (p. 138). Therefore, as teachers, we must find ways to motivate and engage students in their learning.

Some of the ways we can do this include:
1. Calling on students in class
2. Critical thinking questions and discussions about topics which are already familiar/review
3. Hands-on activities
4. Encourage and praise student responses to elicit further participation
5. Relating material to real-world scenarios
6. Know your students-know their interests and abilities to create optimal learning situations"
