Sketching at the horsefair Zuidlaardermarkt 4

Every year there is this huge horsefair in a small village in the north of the Netherlands. People from all over Europe flock to sell or buy horses in Zuidlaaren. It is a mega event. To really get the most of it you really should be there at 06.30, when it is still dark. And very cold! You really need to pull out the heavy winterclothing. I like to draw there because I get to see horses which are different, or ugly but interesting. I always feel rather sad too, because not all horses will find a good home to go to.
