This is probably the most difficult arrangement ever written on Scott Joplin's Elite Syncopations. The 25-years old Bohém Ragtime Jazz Band (Kecskemét, Hungary) performs the piece at the 19th International Bohém Ragtime & Jazz Festival in Kecskemét, Hungary on March 26, 2010. The festival's motto was "Year of Quartets" thus bandleader Tamás Ittzés wrote this arrangement so only 4 players of the 8 musicians play at the same time (except for the 2-bar ending of the A3 section in the middle and the whole last strain). Various "inner quartets" play oigether within the 8-piece orchestra. Sometimes these quartets exchange playing by 16th-notes! Personnel: Tamás Ittzés violin, piano, Miklós Lázár violin, whistles, József Lebanov trumpet, Attila Korb trombone, Zoltán Mátrai clarinet, György Mátrai banjo, József Török tuba, Alfréd Falusi drums. DVD selection of the whole festival is available from order@bohemragtime.com. More information and access for the archive of the live broadcast is available at www.bohemragtime.com.
