@deagle94 true but a Pentium 3 has a good architecture and could in theory if overclocked to a high enough speed could outdo a an Intel dual core cpu
-
That ain't nothing. I can do 5.1ghz on air with my 2500K lol
I haven't actually done that but I've seen 5.2ghz on air with a 2500K

@icedkiller686 thanks a lot!

At those speeds, I wonder how that Pentium 4 socket 478 from 2003 would stand against nowadays processors let's say for CPU intensive tasks, using internet stuff like google Maps and google earth, having a lot of tabs open at same time.. (i dont mention games as they would heavily rely on graphic card which is not the point here.. though you could found some recent 1 gb ram video card on Agp, put it on, and see what happens)

Damn that music..now I can't stop having a boner

@sidouya It's quite easy in fact. Just hang out with some geeks into Overclocking, they're regularly doing group orders for LN2 cans to chemical products selling companies.

So far, as of October 2011, the fastest overclock I've seen was STILL on a. Pentium 4. 7520,02Mhz.. Beats the clock of the fastest i7 990x I've seen (7100 ~something Mhz). If anyone saw faster on a 980 / 990x please let me know as im certain it can do better than that.
What's the second song name?

@jinx20001 you are actually wrong, the speed is one of the least important things in a cpu. the qpi L1 L2 L3 and the architecture of the cpu it self is way more important than the speed. for example if an i7 920 can has a qpi of 4.6 and L3 cach of 8mb, it will beat any core 2 quad with 5ghz of speed anyday.
