@bertiellison Roy Alon had to drive the Land Rover all the way from the bottom to the top. The only problen was reversing down again for the next shot. It was so steep he couldn't turn round to look out of the rear window. "It's certainly tall, the angle is something like 60 degrees but no tricks were used. It's a spectacular stunt."

Location for the filming was the 237ft Clywedog Dam in Wales...

@hanneskroeger Sorry, but it was Mr. Land Rover, Roger Crathorne, that was in the 90 going up the dam. Roy Alon did the other driving, but Roger took the responsibility on to be in the 90 whilst it was being winched up the dam. However, the engine was not running! The angle, was about 60 degrees n the oil would not get round the engine properly for the length of time it would take to get to the top of the dam. What they did was to fill the back of the 90 with batteries n link them to the winch!

Did read that on the net, even a second backup winch at the dam top supposed to be used.

You can do that in a 2WD car. Put a winch on a Volkswagen Bug and do that, 4WD isn't needed when your being pulled by a winch.
