i agree with having smooth rocks for these fish but here is where it gets different. only the wild ones would need smooth rocks to feel more at home. but the more you breed them the different needs they will need. lace rock is more than fish for tank breed cichlids and also for the wilds, but the wilds will act slightly different anyways, plus you shouldnt be taking wilds anyways. tank breed are far less detrimental to there natrual population than the wilds being taken
