CUSCO WRX STI GDB-F <3

Heard there was some whining of the entered Lotus Exige. 4th overall, not set-up for time attack.
-
I do agree we are only really just starting on time attack but we build some of the fastest jap drag cars in the world and i have no doubt we can do the same with time attack.
-
Surely the interest in the event now will attract some TV, even SBS... ?

time attack in general leads itself to 4wd for there superior grip and handling tho nsx is mr which is said to be the better layout....but rarer and more expencive... the jgtc nsx driven by keiichi tschuya ran a 51.875 at tsubaka tho im not sure it it was within the same class rules as the hks evo ....tsubaka is small and tight so it favors smaller cars like evos and wrxs whereas eastern creek is more open like usa tracks which would favor higher hp cars like gtrs and nsxs
-
I'd like to see some more foreign racers at tsukuba, but that track lends itself to awd cars. The U.S tracks tend to be more "horsepower" oriented. Hence the reason why the FX NSX has dominated. That thing is scary fast in a straight line. I don't see the NSX running better than a 56.5 at tsukuba though. The sierra sierra evo and tube frame AMS evo would likely be fairly competitive though. I've been told eastern is a more wide open course....if that is the case the NSX will be very strong

yea i have been watchin the us and with there huge budgets they built some pretty wild cars....give it a few more years i rekon we can go to tsukaba and try for the record....tho i seen some wild jap cars that havnt been completed yet (google pro stock r34) once tested and tuned they have a goood chance of beating hks so....
-
Agreed, but just FYI the Sierra Sierra Evo (VERY well financed former open wheel team), just beat out the cusco sti at the same track and ran within .8 of the HKS Evo. That same car was pretty soundly beaten by the FX NSX all last season. Should be an excellent event none the less. The aussies have the advantage of familiarity with tuning per weather and track, but the Japanese cars will be flying. Certainly can't wait to see the results of the event.

@03threefiftyz aussies and yanks will have a good battle but japs will be there just to show off i mean cmon there in a league of there own look what happened when hks went to the redline time attack in the us....beat everyone by 5 whole seconds and since most yank time attack cars are on slicks whereas japs do it on semi slicks imagine with the car tuned to the track and on slicks it coulda been 7-10 secs

I would like to see some of the UK cars enter, but its way to far and too early in their season to travel to OZ, especially when they have one of their own events on 16th May days before. Cars like the CPR (ex rc) evos, Norris Designs Evo, Roger Clark Motorsport Impreza and Zen Impreza have all come on over the last couple of years and would certainly be quick there with the experienced drivers, just google them. You will never get all the world's best time attacks cars together in one place.
No, it's not Holden vs Ford so it won't be televised in Australia unfortunately
