Yeah it's over capacity. It's a crisis if ever a train breaks down or needs a police investigation during rush hour. More trains on the tracks is one more thing the MTA needs

There is a toll proposal in one of bloomberg's PLANYC books. It suggests a 10.00 daily fee to be in from the tip of lower manhattan all the way up to 59th street (if you are not a resident of that area).

But, it was scraped due to the MTA subway being over capacity.

i dont think that everyone will automatically use the elevator just because there is one. the majority of people will still use the stairs. only people who really need to use the elevator will wait for it, whether they are handicapped or not. a mom with a stroller, for example, or the elderly, or someone on crutches, or, like me, someone with extra heavy luggage.

I believe there is way too much traffic in subways to use elevators. HOWEVER. They should have a private elevator reserved for people with handicap. Like how we reserve parking spaces closer to entrances. So yeah I so agree but its not for people that can walk up and down stairs.
