Nottingham Science Park

Functional, as well as comfortable and inspiring, Blueprint has created No.1 Nottingham Science Park as an environmentally friendly location for a socially responsible, progressive community.
Built using recycled and sustainable building materials whenever possible, No.1 Nottingham Science Park is designed as a 'mixed mode' building to significantly reduce energy consumption. Instead of a standard, greedy air-conditioning system, the building is cooled using a combination of thermal mass, natural ventilation and mechanical adiabatic comfort cooling (please see our factsheet for further details).
A brown 'living' roof provides increased insulation, whilst tested green technologies, like the near carbon neutral biomass heating system, not only help save the planet but save money for occupants too, by providing significantly reduced long-term running costs.
We believe that working in harmony with the natural environment adds value to the creative process. Cheerful interiors, along with superb levels of natural light and ventilation make No.1 Nottingham Science Park a brighter, healthier (and, therefore, more productive) place for your business to be.
Outside, the giant Lilypad Boardwalk traverses the science park and provides a pedestrian link to the Nottingham University campus, as well as a beautiful environment in which to stroll, refresh and relax.
The Lilypad Boardwalk is suspended over a wetland habitat that extends the ecology of the neighbouring nature reserve whilst also providing a sustainable urban drainage system (see factsheets for further details).
Visionary landscaping, camouflaged undercroft car parking and acres of public access parkland ensure that the outdoor space is devoted to people, pleasure and biodiversity.
