klynne85's webcam video January 14, 2010, 10:44 AM

I am a military wife. My husband is a Marine and 5 wks ago, returned from his first 7 month deployment. Yesterday, we received news, that due to the earth quake that has devastated Haiti, he will be leaving. He will be gone, for what is right now estimated at 3 months. It's hard. I've decided to make a video diary/blog of this experience.

  • i just want to say i admire you for your selflessness in this situation. you will for sure miss your husband and your kids will miss their dad. (or you did) and you continue to understand and be ok with the fact he is helping those less fortunate than you and your family. i hope all went well for your husband and family.

  • @jankovi13 Thanks so much. Everything went very well. He's been home now since Feb and won't deploy again until later this coming year. ;) We're very lucky to have him home for over a year.

  • the EXACT same thing happened to my brother in law...got home and was home for about 4 to 5 weeks then left for haiti. hope hes home with you by now ? my husband left a little over a month ago.

  • @AB1190 He is home. He's been home since later that Feb. I hope you're dealing well with your deployment. I'm always around to talk. ;)

  • Hell my name is mercedes! My husband just left for his first t.d.y for 2 months. This will be the first time that I've ever had to deal with him being gone cause he was already in the military when I met him. So I was wondering if you have any advice for me! And i'm terribly sorry about your husband having to leave again I really am!! All the love and god bless you, Mercedes

  • @AnnMercedes I am sorry that I'm just now getting to this and I hope your husband is home by now. My advice to fellow military wives is to breathe. Get up, put one foot in front of the other, and carry on. Just as the Marines say, "Adapt and overcome." We have our jobs, they have theirs. We're their support and that's the best and proudest job in the military.
