The ending from Werner Herzog's 1987 film, starring Klaus Kinski, "Cobra Verde".

It is one of my very favorite endings, actually.

  • Masterful. Pure. Archetypal. Condenses human experience in a medium that it itself transcends.

  • thanks for sharing - it's immortal movie. The best adaptation of "Heart of Darkness" ;)

  • @brcx300 i don't get this, does he die, could u explain the ending please

  • la regia è commovente.si lui però non è solo un attore,è sublime!

  • I think this is not one of the best Herzog's movies, but this scene is one of the greatest movie moments all all times!

  • great

  • @brennscheidt Why all the thumbs down? I think Brenn's trying to say that Kinski was often as mad as the characters he portrayed, not that he was a bad actor.

  • And do you think after being exploited for centuries and bearing deep wounds of colonialism, the former colonies will just magically become a paradise sooner than you can blink an eye?

I'm not saying that Africans are not capable of doing disastrous things themselves, like any people are, or that everything can be attributed to colonialism, far from it, but to marginalize the effects of colonialism is simply closing your eyes to reality.
