  • @Knightmessenger I agree,

They should have gone back and created new HD Transfers for all three films, and restored the Original Versions in HD. I think it was unacceptable what Lucasfilm did, by going back and using HD Transfers that were created eight years ago.

  • @Knightmessenger tottally agree, is a bad move, is incredible, the really bad thing, is all the skyes of tatooine, very much pixels, this is for the low scan, 2k is very nice for the old dvd, but in hd, is very poor, 6k or 8k, another great move of George..

  • @heythanksbutnothanks I mean they tweaked the digital master made in 2004. It was captured in high definition back then but the transfer was totally botched. LFL went back to a flawed master from 7 years ago and put that on blu ray instead of doing a new HD transfer.

So yeah, the video is 720p but nothing besides the resolution is that great.

  • @Knightmessenger and no it is not the 2004 version tweaked, look at the detail when obi wan changes the controls, what kind of software would tweak a standard DVD? None buster this is 720P just like it says in the description...why you want to deny I can only think of one reason..boredom.

  • @Knightmessenger did you select the thing at the bottom right to 720P? I am sorry but it is HD, maybe a loss of quality on the upload to you tube, which explains the washed out colors. but the uploader isn't lying this is 720P I can see it, I never saw any upscaled star wars DVD look as smooth and as detailed as this....never,, why would you think that it wasn't HD when you can even see that this is smoother and has more pixels than a standard DVD? Well I can see it and I know the difference.

  • @heythanksbutnothanks the picture is not that good as this is the simply the 2004 video source slightly tweaked. The picture is still way too dark with crushed blacks and color too saturated.

it appears to be toned down from the ridiculous dvd but the picture is still punched up like an MTV music video, not a 35mm film.

  • P.S sorry I had to state the obvious but it seems sometimes it has to be that way.

  • @Knightmessenger He just means the film was made in 1977 because it says a new hope 1977 720p Bluray, yes the film was made then but blu ray did not exist in 1977, infact DVDs didn't even exist in 1977, like it says this is the star wars new hope made in 1977 but in blu ray, because you can get it on blu ray now, this is only 720p this isn't even 1080p and the detail with the 2 droids and the detail around them is superb compared to any previous releases...

  • this isn't the 1977 version.
