@niclasjt Um no what it majorly shows is the influence of Rome via its church...Quite annoyingly so ..little bottle of oil..bollocks !

This presenter is too much, lurking behind buildings, mincing about everywhere and hogging the camera. A voice-over would have been far better.

@TheTunnak Maybe mixed good and bad is a better message. If this documentary shows us anything, it's that Scottish popular heroes weren't always lovely: medieval power politics was a violent game. Your examples bear this out, as well. Richard I was one of the most bloody-minded English kings, and was disdainful of his English possessions; William the conqueror, perhaps moreso, having engaged in near genocide in the north. But England being larger, it did more hurt, and has more to apoligize for.

William the concorer, Elizabith II (the virgin Queen) they all had good moral's and standard's to rule, there was good and bad all over the world, and still is to this day.

The cinematography on this series is astounding. What beautiful scenery, what a beautiful country.

shame this series is blighted with sickly bbc programme values....the camera trickery vandalises this show. at least snow junior doesnt tramp around in his barber in this one.
