Not gonna argue your points. They're all bang-on. I'm a guitar player and LOVE Stevens. His most recent solo album, Memory Crash, kicks arse. As well, it's worth checking out Billy Idol's newest DVD, In Super Overdrive. Steve does his Idol thing and that's always a good thing.
@TheTrueFortress YEAH WELL, AS A MUSICIAN MYSELF, STEVE HAS MORE TECHNICAL TALENTS, FOR SURE, BUT NEVER HAS BEEN AND NEVER WILL BE AS RECOGNIZED, FAMOUS OR AWARDED AS VINCE. AT THE TIME HE JOINED VNB, VINCE WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST ACTS AROUND WITH THE CRÜE, SO STEVE LANDED A VERY BIG CONTRACT WITH WARNER BROS, A CONTRACT HE NEVER HAD WITH BILLY IDOL. NEVERMINDING THAT, THEY (VINCE AND STEVE) MADE GREAT GREAT MUSIC TOGETHER!!!! ROCK ON, BROTHER!!!
In a manner of speaking, sure. But Vince needed a Steve Stevens more than Stevens needed Vince Neil. Vince needed to make an impression after being ousted/leaving Motley. He needed some firepower. Steve had already established himself as a guitarist with serious credentials (Grammy win, Billy Idol chart hits, etc.). Neil is a moderate hack with an alcohol problem who got very lucky with MC. And I am not even saying I dislike Vince Neil, either. But this is the score.
I was at this show in the front row! Can't believe the show was recorded!
