July 19, 2010 -- Robert Reid volunteers to be an 18th-century reenactor at the 234th anniversary of the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence. The event -- quietly held July 8 every year in Philadelphia -- sees both side represented, including heckling 'Loyalists' not happy with the uppity move for independence (Robert's side). Includes interviews with 'Thomas Jefferson.' More on lonelyplanet.com and reidontravel.com.

I seriously doubt there was a politically correct mandate such as a sign language translator in 1776.
