  • Hi Anthony - do you like the Holy Fire more than your Nobels?

  • For clean boost and mild OD, the Holy Fire has the edge. For heavier distortion, I prefer the Nobels to the Holy Fire because the heavier distortion on the Holy Fire is more of a fuzz type distortion, which is not what I normally use.

  • @gr8bluesgtr ok holy fire vs fulltone ocd...which one you like better??

  • @ihaveaverybadcold Limited experience with the OCD. For dirty rhythm, definitely the Holy Fire. OCD at really high gain levels matches what I like a bit better, but for other kinds of music, I can't say for sure.

  • Is it better than the OCD?

  • I think for full on distortion the OCD has the edge, but for clean boost or overdrive / lighter distortion, I'm with the Holy Fire.

  • Is it just me or are 'boutique' pedals not just the emperors new clothes? I can't tell much difference between em

  • I have this pedal and I love it. It absolutely kills most pedals. It makes my amps sound bigger. Most stompboxes sound like a box, literally. I have owned Pete Cornish G-2 and SS-3 pedals, two Analogman King of Tones, Hermida Zendrive, Keeley modded Screamers and all kinds of good fuzz but this is in a class by itself. I have been using it with my 100 watt Demeter TGA 2.1 and a Motion Sound rotary amp. I can't wait to try it on smaller 20-40 watt tube amps. I will never sell this.

  • Where can I buy this pedal?

  • Sounds pretty saggy.

  • when you mixed the overdrive and distortion it kinda got that tone like stevie had at Austin City Limits in '89!

  • Yes.

  • killer tone... you must be as big a stevie ray fan as me.

  • Hey Anthony, I've been eyeing that pedal for a while but I decided to get the Ethos instead for now... will get the HF later for sure but I was wondering if you've compared humbucker vs. single coil using the HF. I have a sneaking suspicion there's going to be more contrast from clean to distortion using the guitar's volume with humbucker pickups. Great playing and great sound, by the way!
