It's Christmas 2009 and I'm listening to ..still Irelands best ballad singer . . Paul Brady. . he is as good today as when I first heard him in '77. God Bless You Paul. Mike Kelly

There are very few ballad singers that can keep the passion of youth as they age. Paul Brady still sings this song as beautifully if not more beautifully as he did in this 1977 performance

yeah! I actually didnt realise that until I read your comment, but this song came before knopfler's version of lily, joan baez's version of lily of the west was different
