There's nothing like the feeling of first leaving the vault. You walk out there with nothing but a 10mm pistol and see the ENORMOUS open wasteland and don't know where to begin. No other game can do that to you.

That. Fucking. Music. Makes my hair stand on end, but I fucking love it.

fallout 3 is breathtaking, it truly is. when you first leave the vault, you see the lonely tower in the distance, the vast wasteland in front of you, no idea where to go.

this shows what we are capable of with just one war.

Look up "only time by enya metal cover" It'll be by a guy named metalrr5. It's not typical metal. It's beautiful. If you love this game, try to leave the vault while listening to it.

This is the same music that plays in Elwynn Forest in World of Warcraft.
Look up "World of Warcraft - Elwynn Forest"

if not the radio, I would have went crazy on fallout...

the first time i exited the Vault i was overwhelmed by the destruction and the loss of that civilization, the feeling of emptiness was too much, i had to take a break from the game. i just took a walk outside - it made me kinda depressed afterwards, but in a "good" way...

I still can't get over how damn desolate the world of Fallout3 is. It didn't hit me at first when leaving the vault, but it progressive got worse and worse as I saw nothing but destruction. Though Fallout3 is not a horror game, its world is one of the most frightening I've ever experienced.

Indeed it is, its scary walking around without seeying anyone for long periods of time, just watching all the destruction, the corpses, having only the wind as your companion.
