@AsileeDotCom i know right cause 216 is Cleveland`s area code.
-
@BigVideoFan88 could it not just mean that they set up a taping before hand and just rode along with the crew on whatever call they got? I'm pretty sure that the film crew from Rescue 911 still taped this.

i dont agree with trying to get her blood pressure around 3:07 unless they have to keep her there and/or waiting on something else.

They tried to do this episode with Careflite in Dallas, TX but Careflite refused. The reason was that the producers had all the rescuer's run to the patient in order to convey a sense of urgency. Careflite never runs. Ever. Not even if it was a reenactment.

These guys are AMAZING at what they do!!!!

@allgood2000 are these films still on air?

I wanna work for Life Fight lol

Trauma medical personnel are AMAZING!! I have so much respect for them, and their calm in crazy situations. No situation is the same, but they adapt to each one. Thanks guys!!

The irony in the episode # being 216.

You can use sedatives and pain control on patients with head injuries, it all depends on what your doc is comfortable with and their BP. There are certain agents that are more advantegous than others.
KEDs are only used on stable trauma patients with suspected neck and back trauma.
-
I don't think so.
The only controversial device we use, that I know of, is the PASG (MAST) trousers.
I'm not a Senior Paramedic though. I'd have to ask my partner to be sure, but I don't think so.
-
Does your service use RSI? If a PT's BP is low enough that you cant give versed then the patient will likely be unconcious, sooner or later.Etomidate has been found to decrease ICP while maintaining CPP,obviously a desireable effect in the combative head trauma PT. The combativeness in head trauma PTs can lead to an increase in ICP causing further injury; furthermore a PT with a GCS of less than 8 can not protect his own airway thus the need for an advanced airway.

good stuff!

I miss these shows

gllly,
Yes. They had that equipment.
I became an EMT-B in the early nineties (I'm a Paramedic now), and they had short boards.
I think using a KED on combative patients is a protocol thing. We're supposed to use restraints. I'd prefer giving drunks a tranquilizer intravenously, but it's not always possible.
OTOH, You can't give combative trauma patients anything that will make them go to sleep, b/c their blood pressure will drop-not a good idea to drop blood pressure of trauma patients.

I hear You Nick. I have found them time consuming but they are beneficial if the Pt is in the front seat but hey are still awkward.
-
In Vegas, I don't think I have ever used the KED outside of the training enviroment. Fire usually just C-collars then puts em onto the longboard.

Metro should be attached to our hip, thats how many times we call them.
-
Metro life flight was on display at the airshow at the Lakefront airport. They also did a flyover.
-
haha life filght 3 is based out of my hometown of Canton,Ohio

the bad news here in the show's run they never shown "A motorvehicle accident" as a segment that would've been cool though the one I am talking of is in the intro.
Oh wow. MAST Trousers. That's how old this is!

William Shatner said that the footage was recorded exactly as it happened. I wonder if the footage was sent in by one of the local news stations in Cleveland like WJW.

If Shatner says, "This story is not a re-creation" then it was filmed by Rescue 911 camera crews. If he says "Some of the footage in this story was taped as events unfolded" then it was shot by a news station, an amatuer, or someone else.
