Work tape of me rehearsing the leads on "CHUD" for recording. This particular track is one of my favorites from the sessions, so far. It's just a big, ballsy, monster of a song with a little room for some Bluesy stuff here and there.

Usual rig on this one:
Peavey 3120 with JSX cab
The rack in the effects loop,(TC delays are the most audible here)
Whammy Pedal
CryBaby Wah

Playing Kane,(my customized, burnt Ibanez RG7420 7 string) for the lead and some of the rhythm tracks.

More videos of both the rehearsals and sessions for the solo album will keep coming as work progresses.

  • Nice man! Amazing song, great foundation, great lead work. Good amp too *wink wink*

I think I'll get one of those, though I have to ask: Can it make a just uberly oversaturated yet not annoying distorted tone, like Rusty Cooley from Outworld? That type of sound would be a major "thing" when buying an amp like this.

  • FIrst, thank you for the compliments! Much appreciated! As for the amp, yes the 3120 can handle just about any type of high gain sound, mostly due to the active EQ which allows for very detailed tailoring of the overall sound. The real key is to find the right cabinet to compliment it. Personally, I've found that a cab loaded with Eminence speakers works very well with this amp. Just try as many cabs as you can to find what gets the sound you're wanting.

  • Is that a Whammy I hear at 3:27? Awesome work man.

  • Yeah, that would be the ol' Whammy. I tend to use it sparingly,(unless I have it set to the octave doubler).

  • sounds amazing, when does the cd come out? oh and you also just sold me that head haha

  • Thank you very much! As far as album release, still working on it. The new Ghost Circus,(my main band) album might be out before it. Keep checking my channel as I'll ad videos as things progress. Hope you dig the 3120! I've added a ValveKing head here too, so I'm kinda living in Peavey land! :-)

  • Very nice!

  • Awesome Chris! Love the power the song packs!

Recently bought a 3120 thanks to your review - along with the JSX cab - although I have to say - I ran the 3120 through a 4x12 Laney cab that I bought in 1982 - and honestly - the tone is MASSIVE!! the JSX isn't quite as full and thick as with the Laney, but it is an incredible combo as your demo showed! Awesome guitar work man!

  • Sounds killer Chris! Very original too.5 stars!

  • Holy shit dude, sick tone, sick jam, sick guitar, sick everything.

One more subscriber, and as it's been said, another person wanting a 3120. :D
