Two clubs that no longer exist and were once located on either end of Albert Park met at the Lakeside Oval in this clash which resulted in a comfortable win to the Lions by 23 points - 14.9.93 to 9.16.70

  • Loved the old Lakeside Oval,this was one of the last matches to be played there.Loved the old press box shed on the outer flank there.Gave this ground great charm & you had the lake right next to the ground.The muddy centre square-great memories! To mjgorey-grounds these days are just better prepared these days-that's why you don't see muddy grounds-its not because of lesser wet winters..
